Q: I can't make every day, can I attend partial camp?
A: Yes and it will still be very beneficial! The cost is based on 4 and 8 day attendance. 8 day attendance is $100 and 4 day attendance is $60.
Q: Why should I attend summer camp?
A: This camp will give your child the appropriate start necessary for success on their instrument. We start in like instrument classes every day. In 8-days of camp, we cover what would normally take 4 weeks at the start of the school year. Additionally, this gives your child the equivalent of 4 weeks of instruction to decide "Is this instrument the right fit for me for 6th grade". Once the year begins, students are discouraged from switching classes. At East, the schedule will get locked in by first full week of school. At West, the schedule will get locked in by Labor Day.
Q: We cannot afford summer camp, are there scholarships available?
A: Yes. We have a limited number of scholarships available. For a scholarship application, simply contact Mr. Wagoner or Mr. Ellis.
Q: Is Camp Required?
A: Camp is only required for Avon West Percussion students. We would love for every child to attend as it is extremely beneficial to your child's learning, and we highly recommend it for all others.
Q: Is there transportation provided?
A: Unfortunately, no. Parents are responsible for dropping of their child and picking them up in a timely fashion. If you check with your neighbors, church, or community friends, you may find someone you can carpool with.
